I don’t care how terrible they may be...I really want a Maverick. I’ve loved them since I was a child and they were still on the market.

really? I thought i was the only one who likes them i actually bought a diecast like ten years ago or more. I always appreciated the design of them and thought they had potential to be cool and always wanted to build one when i had the money.

Dude.
I loved the styling of the Maverick as a child. I never knew the Grabbers existed until I was in college and met a girl who drove one...and that made me want one even more.
A few years ago, I was doing yard work and over the sound of the lawn mower, I heard what sounded like the universe being torn apart. I shut the mower off and ran out front to see what appeared to be someone’s interpretation of a Gasser Maverick pulling in to one of my neighbor’s driveways. I sat and watched until the guy fired it up again and left. What a glorious noise. Obviously it was just a big honkin’ engine and a loud exhaust...but in that car it was everything.
Even the street rods like the one in your picture make me happy in unnatural ways. To me, Maverick = cool, regardless of what’s under the hood.
Also, if you look around in Target, Toys R Us or Walmart, you might find one of the recent Johnny Lightning Mavericks still on the pegs. It’ll probably cost you around $5 or so.
